The Riddle
A wet hot director. A cast that is goofing.
But rom-com cliches are the things they are spoofing.
Will the small candy shop make it through? Nah, I doubt it.
Well you can say that again. Tell me about it.
Answer
They Came Together director David Wain is also known for directing the 2001 comedy Wet Hot American Summer. He uses many repeat cast members across his films, and always has them working in particularly goofy veins. They Came Together is a spoof of many of the cliches of romantic comedies. The plot is almost identical to that of You've Got Mail in that Amy Poehler owns a small candy store that is threatened by the big corporation that Paul Rudd works for. As for the last line, this should explain it.
